PRIVACY

Your information and choices.

This page describes how the current ClaimNorth website handles information. Last updated September 19, 2026.

Browsing and website measurement

You can browse public pages without an account. The application records daily aggregate activity counts, such as listing views and official-link clicks. These counters do not store your email, IP address, user ID or an individual browsing history. They count events, not unique people.

Connection information is also processed to serve requests, protect sign-in and limit abuse. Hosting, email and browser-notification services may process operational information separately from our aggregate counters. The site does not install advertising pixels or session-recording tools.

Accounts and sign-in

When you request a sign-in email, we store your email address and account creation information. We use an email delivery provider, Cakemail, to send the sign-in link. Sign-in uses time-limited links instead of a site password. The application stores hashed link and session tokens, expiry information and security values. Cookies support sign-in and request security.

Saved settlements and followed recalls

We store the listings you save or follow, the associated account, your related-settlement notification choice and when the follow was created. This is account information, not public profile content. The account does not ask for receipts, diagnoses, purchase histories or claim forms.

You can unsave settlements and unfollow recalls in My ClaimNorth. Following a recall does not by itself opt you into alerts. Sign-in and browser-alert consent do not subscribe you to a marketing newsletter.

Browser notifications

If you enable notifications, we store the subscription address and keys supplied by your browser so alerts can reach your device. We also keep delivery records to reduce duplicate alerts, including hashed subscription identifiers and associated listing information. Browser push services process delivery. You can manage subscriptions in your profile or revoke permission in browser settings.

Retention and requests

Account information and saved preferences remain stored until changed or removed; the application does not automatically delete an account just because it is inactive. Expired sign-in credentials cannot be used to sign in, but expiry does not necessarily delete their database records. Backups are maintained separately, so a change to live data does not immediately change an existing backup.

For questions or requests to access, correct or remove account information, email admin@claimnorth.ca. We may need to verify that the request relates to your account. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, identity documents or medical information with an initial request.

External websites and social media

Official claim websites, recall notices and our social profiles are external services with their own privacy practices. Read their information before submitting personal details. We do not receive the claim forms you submit to an external administrator.
