Who may be eligible
Former students of the Halifax School for the Deaf or the Interprovincial School for the Education of the Deaf in Amherst who attended between 1913 and 1995 as a residential student, day student, or vocational student who was first a residential or day student may qualify. Estates of class members who died on or after January 31, 2019 may qualify for some compensation; students who attended only the Amherst vocational program do not qualify.
